Courage

"Courage! What makes a king out of a slave? Courage! What makes the flag on the mast to wave? Courage! What makes the elephant charge his tusk in the misty mist, or the dusky dusk? What makes the muskrat guard his musk? Courage! What makes the sphinx the seventh wonder? Courage! What makes the dawn come up like thunder? Courage!"

~ Cowardly Lion, Wizard of Oz, 1939.

It takes courage to improve oneself. The fact that you're reading this blog means that most likely you've recognized that something in your life isn't quite what you want it to be. There exists a certain level of dissatisfaction with the status quo, and you want to improve something. That's a realization many people make, however a very small percentage seems to have the courage to take the next step, whatever it may be.

Socrates has been quoted as saying "The unexamined life is not worth living". By delving into the world of self-improvement, you've decided that your life bears some examination. Good for you! And the fact that you've made it to this blog means you must be searching. That takes courage! Much easier it would be indeed to accept the perceived deficiencies that may exist in certain areas of your life, or worse, to complain and notice them, but do nothing about them. You're doing something.

Don't stop now, you're on a roll!
